The new luxury hotel by Richard Brandson near Banyalbufar-on the west coast of Mallorca: the opening is scheduled for August 2023.

The Mediterranean climate, the beauty of the island, the variety of adventure and sports opportunities, as well as the large airport of Palma attracts every year more and more people to the most beautiful island in the world.
This development is also reflected in the countless hotels of different categories. In the luxury segment, three new hotels will open their doors this year for the upscale international audience. A fourth luxury hotel is planned for 2024.
On June 16, 2023, the opening is planned for the posh hotel Ikos Porto Petro on the east coast. An exclusive gastronomy, special service and relaxation should reach new luxurious dimensions and spoil the guests in this way. Culinarily no desires should remain open, since the guests are spoiled into the benefit of five different restaurants in a Food Hall concept with the help of star cooks.
Highlights
Another absolute highlight this year will be the project of British billionaire Richard Branson. The “Hotel Son Bunyola” near Banyalbufar wants to position itself as “one of the most luxurious hotels in the Mediterranean”. According to the plans of Mallorcan architect Guillermo Reynés, relics from the time of the old finca Son Bunyola will also be integrated into the hotel building, such as an altar, a chapel room and several fountains, as well as tower constructions from the era of the Talayot culture. The area of the historic building covers 4,000 square meters with 28 high-end rooms and seven suites, all with what Branson calls the most spectacular views on the entire island. Furthermore, there are three luxury villas next to the hotel, which are already habitable and bookable. One can book a private cook to the service there.
The third hotel of the extra class is planned for all Cappuccino fans in Port dÀndratx. and the opening of a further hotel of the Cappuccino group in the summer 2023 in the popular port in the southwest of the island.
One last insider tip: Another luxury hotel that is also making its way to Mallorca is the hotel belonging to the group of the same name – Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra Mallorca. The hotel is said to have 131 rooms, including 44 suites and nine bungalows, just steps from the waterfront. The spacious accommodations offer full or partial sea views, outdoor terraces or balconies, some of which have a private panoramic pool. However, all Mandarin Oriental lovers will have to wait until 2024, when it is scheduled to open.
