Road to Mallorca 2024 – Golf Challenge Tour of Champions

This year, the Golf Challenge Tour will take place on three continents, in 18 different countries with at least 29 tournaments and a record prize money total of €8,200,000.

Start of the tour

The tour begins in February with the Bain's Whisky Cape Town Open, the first of four events hosted jointly with the Sunshine Tour in South Africa.

Following this, a further 27 tournaments worldwide will take place before the highlight and, at the same time, the culmination of the 2023 season – this will be held from 2 to 5 November at the exclusive Club de Golf Alcanada in Mallorca.

The Road to Mallorca Grand Final Tour is supported by and made possible by The R&A and Rolex, featuring the top 45 players in the rankings battling for one of the 20 coveted DP World Tour cards. This chance for promotion into the top 20, should players win the tournament, has repeatedly led to thrilling moments in recent years.

Historical Background of the Tour

The European Challenge Tour was first established in 1989. The first winner of the Challenge Tour Rankings was Englishman Neal Briggs. Since that inaugural season, many of the world's top players have competed on the Challenge Tour, which is now considered Europe's premier developmental tour: Thomas Bjørn (1995), Justin Rose (1999), Ian Poulter (1999), Henrik Stenson (2000), Louis Oosthuizen (2003), Tommy Fleetwood (2011) and Brooks Koepka (2013), are all former Challenge Tour players.

The top 20 of the „Road to Mallorca“ at the end of the season all deserve promotion to the European Tour. The winner of the „Road to Mallorca Rankings“ receives a Silver Salver (first awarded in 2009) and membership in Category 13 of the European Tour.
