Richard Brandson's new luxury hotel near Banyalbufar on the west coast of Mallorca: opening planned for August 2023.

This development is also reflected in the countless hotels of various categories. In the luxury segment, three new hotels will open their doors to the upscale international clientele this year. A fourth luxury hotel is planned for 2024.

The opening of the luxury Ikos Porto Petro hotel on the east coast is planned for June 16, 2023. Exclusive cuisine, exceptional service, and relaxation are set to reach new levels of luxury, pampering guests in every way. Culinary desires will be satisfied as guests are treated to five different restaurants in a food hall concept, with the help of Michelin-starred chefs.

Another absolute highlight this year will be the project by British billionaire Richard Branson. The "Hotel Son Bunyola" near Banyalbufar aims to position itself as "one of the most luxurious hotels in the Mediterranean region." According to the plans of Mallorcan architect Guillermo Reynés, relics from the time of the old Finca Son Bunyola are also to be integrated into the hotel building, such as an altar, a chapel room, and several fountains, as well as tower structures from the Talayot culture era. The historic building covers an area of 4,000 square meters and has 28 high-quality rooms and seven suites, all of which, according to Branson, offer the most spectacular views on the entire island. In addition to the hotel, there are three luxury villas that are already habitable and available for booking. A private chef can also be booked as part of the service.

The third luxury hotel is planned for all cappuccino fans in Port dÀndratx. and the opening of another Cappuccino Group hotel in summer 2023 in the popular harbor in the southwest of the island.

One last insider tip: another luxury hotel that is also coming to Mallorca is the hotel belonging to the group of the same name – Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra Mallorca. The hotel will have 131 rooms, including 44 suites and nine bungalows, just a few steps from the waterfront promenade. The spacious accommodations offer full or partial sea views, outdoor terraces or balconies, some of which have a private panoramic pool. However, all Mandarin Oriental lovers will have to wait until 2024, as that is when the opening is planned.
