Richard Branson's new luxury hotel near Banyalbufar on the west coast of Mallorca: the opening is planned for August 2023.

Due to the persistent high demand and the ever-increasing number of international tourists in Mallorca, new luxury hotels will continue to open in 2023. The Mediterranean climate, the beauty of the island, the diversity of experiences and sporting opportunities, and Palma's large airport attract more and more people to the most beautiful island in the world each year.

This development is also reflected in the countless hotels of various categories. In the luxury segment, three new hotels will open their doors to the upscale international audience this year. A fourth luxury hotel is planned for 2024.

The Nobel Ikos Porto Petro hotel on the east coast is scheduled to open on June 16, 2023. Exclusive gastronomy, special service and relaxation are set to reach new luxurious dimensions, thus pampering guests. Culinary wishes will be catered for, as guests will be treated to five different restaurants in a food-hall concept with the help of Michelin-starred chefs.

Another absolute highlight this year will be the project by British billionaire Richard Branson. The „Hotel Son Bunyola“ near Banyalbufar aims to position itself as »one of the most luxurious hotels in the Mediterranean. According to the plans of Mallorcan architect Guillermo Reynés, relics from the time of the old finca Son Bunyola are also to be integrated into the hotel construction, such as an altar, a chapel room, and several fountains, as well as tower structures from the Talayotic period. The area of the historic building covers 4,000 square metres with 28 high-quality rooms and seven suites, all with what Branson describes as the most spectacular view on the entire island. In addition, next to the hotel, there are three luxury villas that are already habitable and bookable. A private chef can also be booked as part of the service.

The third luxury hotel is planned for all cappuccino fans in Port d'Andratx. and the opening of another hotel in the Cappuccino Group in the popular harbour in the southwest of the island in summer 2023.

A final insider tip: Another luxury hotel that is also heading to Mallorca is the hotel belonging to the group of the same name – Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra Mallorca. The hotel is said to have 131 rooms, including 44 suites and nine bungalows, just a few steps from the promenade. The spacious accommodations offer full or partial sea views, outdoor terraces or balconies, some of which have a private panoramic pool. However, all Mandarin Oriental lovers will have to be patient until 2024, as the opening is planned for then.
